Do you offer in-person appointments?

Blessing Wellness is a telehealth-only practice. All appointments are conducted via secure video. This allows us to provide high-quality psychiatric care from the comfort and privacy of your own home, without the need to travel.

What states do you serve?

We are currently licensed to provide telehealth psychiatric services in New York. If you are located outside of New York, we are unable to see you at this time. Please check back as our service area may expand in the future.

What are your office hours?

Our current office hours are Monday through Friday from 6:15 PM to 9:15 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Eastern Time). All appointments are conducted via telehealth.

How long is the first appointment?

Your initial psychiatric evaluation typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. This comprehensive visit allows us to thoroughly review your mental health history, current symptoms, medications, and personal goals so we can develop a personalized treatment plan.

How long are follow-up appointments?

Follow-up and medication management appointments are typically 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the complexity of your care needs. We will work with you to determine the appropriate frequency of visits based on your treatment plan.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand that life happens — please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make a change.

What do I need for my telehealth appointment?

You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and a private, quiet space where you feel comfortable speaking openly. You will receive a secure link prior to your appointment.

What insurance plans do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept a range of major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar Health, Medicaid (New York), Medicare, Fidelis Care, Healthfirst, Emblem Health, and MetroPlus Health. Do you offer self-pay options?

Yes. For patients without insurance or those who prefer to pay privately, we offer self-pay rates. Please visit our Insurance & Payment page or contact us directly for current pricing. Payment is due at the time of service, and we accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.

What if my insurance is out-of-network?

If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, we can provide a superbill — an itemized receipt — that you may submit to your insurer for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to understand your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Most major insurance plans now cover telehealth mental health services, especially following expanded coverage policies in recent years. However, coverage varies by plan. A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized training in psychiatric and mental health care. PMHNPs are licensed to diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe and manage medications, and provide comprehensive psychiatric care. Blessing Okuji, PMHNP-BC, holds board certification and brings over 16 years of mental health nursing experience.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. As a board-certified PMHNP, Blessing Okuji is licensed to prescribe and manage psychiatric medications. Medication is always considered thoughtfully and in collaboration with you — we discuss the benefits, risks, and alternatives so you can make an informed decision about your care.

Blessing Wellness focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management rather than ongoing psychotherapy. However, we take a holistic, supportive approach to care and can provide referrals to licensed therapists and counselors who can complement your psychiatric treatment.
